I was excited to get some new equipment as I’ve just begun performing again. Instead I left feeling judged and criticised. From the first moment there was no smile, no warm greeting, nothing to make me feel happy to be in the store like I was before I stepped in the door. I felt judged for not being able to remember what brand of shoe I used to dance in, and like trying 2-3 on was a chore for her. I asked if they had adult leotards and got a ‘yes.’ But no mention of where or offering to show me the sizes and styles, and as someone who needs all new products, I would have been a continuous customer. I felt judged for asking for black stockings simply for rehearsal, and the entire interaction she had a sour look on her face as if she rather be anywhere else. I feel sorry for any young kids or new dancers trying to start the craft by getting items in this store. I work retail, I get it sucks but I’ve never left a store feeling that bad about my purchase before.

As busy as this place gets, she is attentive to all the customers and does a wonderful pointe shoe fitting! Thanks Sheridon for your help. It was a wait for the shoes to come into stock, but it was worth it-for the right fitting shoe! :)
